Here’s a collection of three sessions worth of Pics from Grinds in the Hood.
Session One: Sunset on the hip.
Session Two: Sunset on the hip.
Session three: This past Sunday, I went down alone at 9am, and while I watched a group of men and women agonizingly work their way through a cross fit session, I put my shovel to work and dug a new lip on one of the hills dotting the river’s landscape.
It reminded me of growing up in Tampa, cruising around down without a car, and with rocks (if you could find them) or the heel of your shoe, kicking a lip into whatever gradient you could find. We yearned to ride dirt in a state that just wouldn’t, geographically, allow it.
On Sunday, Carley was the first to show up, and by the end of the session, we had nine riders deep, lawn darting themselves across these dirt pits.
I wouldn’t trade it for anything…Sunday sessions in Tampa. Timeless.
